Naim Chips In For Sarawak Badminton

Naim Cendera Holdings Bhd (Naim) has come forward to render assistance in the Sarawak Junior Badminton Development Programme jointly undertaken by Sarawak Badminton Association (SBA) and Pacific Badminton Management (PBM).

“We will work in partnership with the related sporting bodies in raising standards in sports that is aimed to promote, develop and build a brighter future for young people in sport” said Naim’s Group Financial Controller, Ricky Kho on the assistance rendered to the pilot project.

SBA together with PBM are highly commended for undertaking the junior development programme that in return promote a whole range of possible opportunities for young Sarawakians who want to excel sports particularly in badminton.

The much welcomed support and assistance from the private sector can certainly uplift the moral and spirit of those involved in the junior development programme provides structure training and proper guidance to the budding sports stars.

“The support from private sector will enable the youngsters to have access to proper training and therefore provides invaluable pathways for them to excel in sports ” said a spokesman from the SBA-Pacific working committee.

The committee is an independent body that does not receive any government funding and it is therefore relies entirely on fundraising and corporate sponsorship to provide financial assistance to run the programme.
According to the committee, whatever funds received will greatly help to offset the high costs of training and equipments, thus to enable more youngsters to make the most of their sporting abilities and realize their potentials.

A sponsorship handing over ceremony was held recently at Wisma Naim and the group of companies was represented by the group’s Financial Controller, Ricky Kho who was accompanying Naim’s Chief Operating Officer, Ir Suyanto Osman.

Also present was SBA-PBM programme member, Dominic Lim and coach, Ibrahim Mohd while Naim’s Director of Sales, Tony Lau, Senior General Manager, Charles Bateman and Sales Manager, Gary Kho also witnessed the function.
