Naim Contributes Towards Junior Badminton Development Programme

For the second consecutive year, Naim Cendera through Tabung Amanah Naim has come up to sponsor RM15,000 towards the Sarawak Junior Badminton Development Training program currently undertaken by SBA-PBM.

The program started in 2005 and is participated by over 100 students from 12 primary as well as secondary schools throughout Kuching.

Sanctioned by the Sarawak Badminton Association (SBA) and endorsed by the Sarawak State Sports Council (MSSC), the exciting program has proven to be successful with the active participation from both the children as well from their parents.

The training sessions are conducted by Pacific Badminton Management (PBM) at Stapok Badminton Courts and have never failed to attract the enthusiastic response from the young shuttlers who aimed to become future generation of badminton champions.

For the year 2006, the program is extended to 72 more students with an additional 39 courts will be used throughout the duration. With the support from Naim, the program will be participated by 180 students who will benefit from the well planned program.

The sponsorship handing over ceremony was held at Wisma Naim on Saturday, January 11th and on hand to present the cheque was Naim’s Head of Corporate Affairs, Mr Ricky Kho who was accompanied by Mr Charles Bateman, Naim’s Senior General Manager.

The SBA-Pacific Sports Management committee was represented by Mr Dominic Lim who was also accompanied by Encik Ibrahim Abdul Rahman, one of the many experienced coaches assisting in the program.
