Naim Foundation presents awards to outstanding students

KUCHING: Naim Foundation, the charitable arm of Naim Group of Companies, presented academic excellence awards to 122 Wong Nai Siong Secondary School students in Sibu recently.

Naim corporate communications head Caroline Yeo said the awards were part of the foundation’s annual academic excellence awards programme for secondary schools in Sarawak.

“The contribution was part of the foundation’s community outreach programme, which aimed, among others, to inculcate the attitude to strive for excellence among the younger generation.

“Our message to students is clear – when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. Be it in school or in life, there will be times when we encounter challenges. Never fear such challenges, as the lessons learnt from these challenges will make us stronger. We congratulate the students for all their hard work and we look forward to more success stories in time to come,” she said in a statement yesterday.

Wong Nai Siong Secondary School principal Lu Yew Huiing thanked Naim for the corporate social responsibility initiative.

“The awards greatly motivate students to improve their academic performance in school.

“Indeed, Naim has set a good example to other corporate organisations in giving back to society,” said Lu.

Award recipient Daniel Paw Zhang Sheng also expressed his gratitude to Naim.

“I feel that all my hard work has paid off. I will continue to study harder in the future to win the award again,” he said.

His twin sister and award recipient Eileen Paw Zhang Hui said the award inspired her to be the best.

Fellow award recipient Lol Gul Yong added the award will help with expenses related to his studies.
